Course Information - Bartending

Complete Hospitality Training’s (CHT’s) Melbourne bartending course will equip you with the skills and the confidence you need to get that bar job you have been looking for. The course will cover everything you need to know, from pouring beers to tapping kegs to making cocktails and providing outstanding customer service.

Our bartending course also includes your Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate which is the only qualification you need to legally serve alcohol in Victoria.

 

IMPORTANT UPDATE

As of 01 December 2025, in Victoria, you need an RSA Certificate of Completion to work in many licensed venues. To receive your RSA Certificate of Completion, you must complete the following:

  • Complete an LCV-approved RSA course with Complete Hospitality Training
  • Complete the Sexual Harassment and Assault: Recognise, Prevent and Respond (additional online module) with LCV directly

Entrance Requirements Learners must be 17 years of age and over at the time of course commencement.
Pre-requisites There are no pre-requisite units for this course.
Duration Our Bartending Course has day and evening options.

The nationally recognised Statement of Attainment - SITHFAB021 - Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol

Certificate of Participation highlighting skills learned during your training:

  • Creative Selling and Customer Service
  • Beer Reticulation Systems

Liquor Control Victoria approved certificate
To gain your Liquor Control Victoria approved certificate you will be required to complete an additional online module through Liquor Control Victoria.

Assessment Written assessments completed online and skills demonstrations.

Are you eligible for a Government Subsidy?

Government funding is not available for the standalone Bartending course; however, you might want to consider doing our Government funded* Certificate IV in Hospitality (SIT40422), which includes Bartending amongst other subjects.

If you are an Australian citizen (or permanent resident) you may be eligible for this subsidised course.

Certificate IV in Hospitality (SIT40422) is a nationally recognised qualification which includes:
